Stratland have been promoting this site for a number of years now with proposals having evolved over a period of time and progressing as a result of predicted local demand. Stratland are currently attempting to engage with the Parish Counci to try and facilitate the housing requirement that has been identified under the Neighbourhood Plan. 

The site is approximately 1.39 ha (3.4 acres), including the wooded area, which is to be retained as public open space. To the north of the proposed site is Maury’s Mount House and its retained gardens.

Calculations have assessed that in order to help the scheme fit and be in keeping with the local area, a density based on approximately 8 dwellings per acre, is the best fit.

The density of the scheme is similar to surrounding developments within the area in particular Gazing Lane, The Beeches and Old Cottage Close. The proposed density also caters for the provision of spacious gardens and suitable separation distances between buildings.
